Public Health & Safety has always been and will continue to be our top priority while serving our clients. Below is a list of the organizations whose rules, regulations, sanitary, and disinfection guidelines we adhere to strictly at all times:

 

  • Guam Department of Public Health for Beauty Shops and Schools & the Practice of Cosmetology

  • National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (USA)

 

In order to provide safe treatments for our clients during the COVID-19 Global Health Crisis, we are following the reopening guidelines from the CDC as restrictions continue to be lifted. We are also implementing the following precautionary, safety, and sanitation measures:

 

Daily Reopening Safety Protocol

  • Any reading materials that may have been touched prior to closing are discarded.

  • All soft surfaces are wiped and vacuumed thoroughly.

  • All hard surfaces (i.e. work stations, reception desk, computer keyboard, telephones, etc) are disinfected.

  • All walls are cleaned with soap and water.

  • The bathroom is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with bleach.

  • All air-conditioning units are cleaned and serviced regularly by HydroKleen Guam.

  • All linens are washed and stored in sealed receptacles.

  • Placing signage on the entrance door to mandate that clients wear face masks prior to entry.

  • There are hand-washing stations available at all times.

  • Creating posts on our social media sites to inform clients of safety measures they can implement to keep themselves safer (i.e. bring their own pen to sign their receipt at checkout).

  • We send out an email to all of our clients informing them of the precautions we are taking to keep them safe.

  • All implements are cleaned, sanitized, and stored in covered containers.

  • All equipment used in the treatment rooms is sanitized with Barbicide.

  • Ceilings and ceiling fans are cleaned and sanitized.

Operational Safety Protocol

  • Our spa currently operates at 25% capacity, per DPHSS Guidance Memo 2020-39.

  • All of our Technicians have passed the Barbicide Exam.

  • Services are rendered by appointment only. We do not accept walk-in clients unless we are able to take them while following social distancing protocol.

  • We do not allow people to wait idly in the reception area. If a person does not have an appointment, they are politely asked to wait outside.

  • All clients are subject to a mandatory temperature screen and hand sanitization upon arrival.

  • All services are provided in private rooms.

  • All staff & technicians are provided with proper PPE to perform their jobs (i.e. gloves, face shields, and protective coverings for their clothes).

  • At the start of each day, we require all employees to check their temperature using an infrared thermometer.

  • Any client who displays signs of sickness (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc) is kindly asked to reschedule their appointment.

  • Hand Hygiene: Each Technician is required to wash their hands thoroughly using hot water and soap for 30 seconds before and after treating each client, as well as after eating, smoking, or using the restroom.

  • Hand Sanitizer is available in multiple locations in the reception/waiting area for all of our clients.

  • Any item, implement, or linen that comes in contact with a client is cleaned, disinfected, and/or sanitized prior to further use.

  • All non-porous implements are fully submerged in a Barbicide solution (prepared daily) of ¼-cup Barbicide and 4 cups of water for a minimum of 10 minutes between services.

  • The Barbicide solution is changed out daily (sometimes sooner, if necessary).

  • All disposable items that can only be used once (i.e. cotton, wax sticks, paper bed coverings, etc) are disposed of properly into their own covered trash receptacle after use.

  • Hard surfaces are wiped down between clients with Barbicide spray, Clorox wipes, and/or alcohol.

  • The entrance door, treatment room doorknobs, and bathrooms knobs and levers are cleaned and sanitized every hour.

  • Product bottles are wiped/sanitized thoroughly between clients.

 

Closing Safety Protocol

  • All hard surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant.

  • All appliances/implements used during the day are cleaned and sanitized.

  • All product bottles are wiped with disinfectant.

  • All floors are swept and mopped.

  • The bathroom is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with bleach.

  • Employees put all of their protective outerwear into the laundry at the end of each day - there are no reused smocks or aprons permitted.
