Waxing FAQ's

What can I expect during a Brazilian wax?

Our experienced waxers will first prep your skin with oil to create a protective barrier which ensures the wax will only adhere to your hair and not your skin. Our honey wax is kept at the perfect temperature to guarantee overall best results. Our Technicians are expertly trained to give you a professional, smooth, and almost ouchless wax.

How long should my hair be?

Please make sure hair between 1/4" or 1/2" long . Any longer and it will be difficult (and more painful) to remove. If your growth is longer, you can trim the hair with a small pair of scissors, using a small comb against your skin as a guard. If your hair is too long or too short, it may not be possible to complete the service that day. If length is difficult for you to gauge, one trick is to shave, and then wait two to three weeks (depending on how fast your hair grows) before coming in for your wax.

What is the difference between a Brazilian, French, Bikini, & Bumkini Wax?

A Brazilian Wax is the removal of all the hair beneath the naval to the bottom of the tail bone in the pubic region. A French wax is hair removed inside the bikini like, but not including labia or bum areas. A Bikini wax is the removal of the hair just right outside of your underwear. Perfect for those summer months and keeps you bathing suit ready! A Bumkini Wax is hair removal around the anus and up the tail bone region.

Brazilian Waxing For Men

If it is your first time getting a Brazilian, you may be a bit sensitive, but the more you wax the less irritated your skin will become. You will be covered with a small towel most of the time, and will use your assistance to keep the skin taught. Sometimes, on your first wax, all the hair will not be removed, due to the fact that we will not go over areas more than once. The Brazilian wax will cover areas from the top of your pubic region, back and around the sides of the anus. Avoid excessive sweating and heat after your service.

If I'm on my monthly cycle, can I wax?

Yes. Just wear a tampon and remember you may be a bit more sensitive during this time.

If I'm pregnant, can I wax?

Of course! We regularly wax mothers-to-be up to their due date!

Will waxing make my hair grow back faster or thicker?

No of course it will not! Waxing removes the hair from the root, weakening the root in the process. The hair will grow back softer and thinner.

How long does the waxing last?

Waxing may last 3-4 weeks the more you wax the longer you can go. We recommend NO SHAVING in between waxes. Shaving will make your hair more likely to break the next time you wax.

Does waxing hurt?

Your first time may be a bit uncomfortable because we are removing 100% of the hair. By your second visit, the hair has thinned out making it much easier to remove. All of our waxers have years of experience and make your waxing as comfortable & quick as possible.

Is there anything I can do to prep myself for a wax?

For best results, keep your skin exfoliated and hydrated before your service. This will remove dead skin cells, and decrease the likelihood of ingrown hairs. Before any wax, make sure to clean the entire area before coming in. You should avoid facial waxing if you are using Retin-A or any other exfoliating products. Please discontinue use for atleast a week prior.

How do I care for my skin after a wax?

For 24 hours after waxing, many people should avoid tanning and swimming pools due to the irritating effects of chlorinated water. You should also avoid perfumes, scrubs, and any skin irritants the day of the waxing service. It is important to keep skin hydrated and use a mild exfoliant once a week on waxed areas to remove built up dead skin cells that can clog pores and trap hair, causing ingrown hairs.
